Vaccines

Vetvac Online Vaccine Database:

Vetvac is a searchable database of globally available livestock and poultry veterinary vaccines, which provides a broad resource for those working in the Animal Health sector. The database can be accessed at the vetvac website.

A UK authorised vaccines must always be the vaccine of choice; but if there are none available to treat a particular disease/condition and to avoid unacceptable suffering to the animal, a veterinary surgeon can prescribe an unauthorised veterinary medicinal product. In the event that a product has to be imported he/she must apply to the VMD for the correct import certificate – further information can be found in Veterinary Medicines Guidance Note No 5 Import Certificate Schemes.
