You can report a suspected adverse reaction or a side effect involving a veterinary
medicine by clicking on the button below – this will take you to the online reporting
site. Suspected lack of efficacy can also be reported this way.
The adverse reaction reporting scheme is run by the VMD and is used to collect information
from veterinary professionals and the general public on suspected adverse reactions
to veterinary medicines. We collect reports on both licensed and unlicensed veterinary
medicines, and human medicines used to treat animals. The information that you provide
can help to improve the safe and effective use of veterinary medicines.
When you fill in the report you will need to provide basic information about:
- The name of the product which you think caused the adverse reaction.
- The animal(s) or person(s) in which the adverse reaction occurred.
- The adverse reaction.
- Your contact details as the reporter of the adverse reaction.
You can record this information in the four sections of the reporting screen. It
might be useful, although not essential, to have the product, its packaging or the
package leaflet that came with it with you when you fill out this report. Your report
can be submitted without any additional information, but if you are able to provide
further details, these can be added in the final section of the report.
